Hindus have too many gods

This is a misconception and in some cases a misrepresentation by mischievous minds. Hindus believe that there is only one God. The highest soul is called the Trinity – Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva).  God is one and these names are merely the attributes of the One Supreme Being. There are various names given to him in different times by different people. Essentially, he is the One, the Absolute, the Supreme Spirit, the Param Atman.
